Sound Synthesis

Synthesizer is the most magnificent invention in the history of music technology. It overcomes an ancient problem of producing any sound we are able to imagine, and so brings for the first time in history of this ancient art what other arts had from the very beginning – total control of the basic material of the art, the sound.

Therefore it probably isn’t too surprising that synthesizers are to become the biggest controversy and taboo of XX century musical world. Other numerous XX century music novelties, such as modernist classical scores, or jazz, or punk, were widely discussed, but synthesizers were tabooed.
